I know it’s been a while since we’ve sent out an update. I’m going to pick up where I left off, and start getting y’all caught up!
The time between Thanksgiving and New Year’s is my favorite time. There’s something truly magical about Christmas.
It’s a time when people come together, spreading love and warmth through acts of kindness and generosity. The twinkling lights, the scent of freshly baked cookies, the classic Christmas songs – all of these things create a sense of wonder and joy that’s hard to find at any other time of the year. The holiday spirit is strong in South Texas, even without the presence of snow-capped mountains and valleys.

I love decorating for Christmas. We have ornaments handed down from family, ornaments we’ve collected along our travels, ornaments we’ve received as gifts (especially one of my favorite ornaments- from Ireland!). We have decorations hand made by great-grandparents even! It is like opening a time capsule whenever I open those red and green totes. I love turning off all of the interior lights and sitting in the glow of the Christmas lights.

This year, we decided to have the pugs join in on the fun. I ordered them these cute little collars made of Christmas ribbon. Surely it wouldn’t be too hard to get one photo of all three of them, would it??

Well, I guess we’ll try again next year 😄

We have these super cool outdoor lights that are controlled via Wi-Fi. We can change the colors of them on our phones. So putting up Christmas lights was easy-peasy this year!

I can tell you, as I write this post in late August, I’m already gearing up for Christmas 2023! I am looking forward to the decorations, the atmosphere, and the COOLER WEATHER!
I appreciate each of you taking the time to read our posts. I try to be consistent but sometimes, life on the ranch gets in the way. Thank you for hanging in there with us and giving me grace! Until next time… 🤠
Love these! Maureen you’re such a fantastic writer – ever thought of trying it professionally?
Love you!❤️

Aw, thanks Shelly! I sure do enjoy writing, but Grandpa Jerry taught me the quickest way to dislike something you do as a hobby is to do it for money 😁 I’ll stick with entertaining our family and friends. Love you!
