“It’s all fun and games until Santa checks the naughty list!”

I know it’s been a while since we’ve sent out an update. I’m going to pick up where I left off, and start getting y’all caught up!

The time between Thanksgiving and New Year’s is my favorite time. There’s something truly magical about Christmas.

It’s a time when people come together, spreading love and warmth through acts of kindness and generosity. The twinkling lights, the scent of freshly baked cookies, the classic Christmas songs – all of these things create a sense of wonder and joy that’s hard to find at any other time of the year. The holiday spirit is strong in South Texas, even without the presence of snow-capped mountains and valleys.

This was October 7, yes, I get excited about Christmas as early as the retail stores do!

I love decorating for Christmas. We have ornaments handed down from family, ornaments we’ve collected along our travels, ornaments we’ve received as gifts (especially one of my favorite ornaments- from Ireland!). We have decorations hand made by great-grandparents even! It is like opening a time capsule whenever I open those red and green totes. I love turning off all of the interior lights and sitting in the glow of the Christmas lights.

My absolute favorite Christmas song… O’ Holy Night performed by Mariah Carey

This year, we decided to have the pugs join in on the fun. I ordered them these cute little collars made of Christmas ribbon. Surely it wouldn’t be too hard to get one photo of all three of them, would it??

Well, I guess we’ll try again next year 😄

Three pugs over the rainbow bridge💔 … three still with us ❤

We have these super cool outdoor lights that are controlled via Wi-Fi. We can change the colors of them on our phones. So putting up Christmas lights was easy-peasy this year!

The view from our driveway
The garage door that Josh built
We braved Hobby Lobby during December to make our own wreaths!

I can tell you, as I write this post in late August, I’m already gearing up for Christmas 2023! I am looking forward to the decorations, the atmosphere, and the COOLER WEATHER!

I appreciate each of you taking the time to read our posts. I try to be consistent but sometimes, life on the ranch gets in the way. Thank you for hanging in there with us and giving me grace! Until next time… 🤠

    • Aw, thanks Shelly! I sure do enjoy writing, but Grandpa Jerry taught me the quickest way to dislike something you do as a hobby is to do it for money 😁 I’ll stick with entertaining our family and friends. Love you!
